Birmingham City striker Lukas Jutkiewicz has been handed a two-game suspension for deception of a match official in the game against Wigan Athletic.

The 33-year-old was adjudged to have been brought down by Joe Bennett in the 10th minute of Saturday's match, with the defender being sent off for the incident.

Despite being a man down, Leam Richardson’s side went on to win the game 1-0, courtesy of a late Nathan Broadhead winner.

Subsequently Jutkiewicz was charged with a breach of FA Rule 3, deception of a match official.

An independent Regulatory Commission has found the charge against him to be proven and imposed this sanction during a hearing.

In his press conference Birmingham manager John Eustace said: "Everyone knows Jukey is a top pro, a top lad.

“He certainly wouldn’t go out there to get someone sent off, so it is disappointing news."
