A Wigan man has admitted to making a series of hoax calls to the fire brigade.

Daniel Ralphs, of Upper Dicconson Street, Swinley, was accused of having made 13 false alarms between February 8 and March 3.

The 31-year-old also admitted to two charges for damaging internal doors belonging to the Coops Building on Dorning Street. Each was valued at £1,032.

Ralphs also admitted to a separate charge of repeatedly damaging a fire alarm between February 8 and March 4, the repair bill coming to £1,000.

In total Ralphs faced 16 charges when he appeared at court. His case has now been adjourned for sentencing on June 1 and he was remanded on bail.

Wigan fire station’s commander John Duffin declined to comment until after sentencing.
