A man has denied threatening Wigan prison officers and menacing someone in order to get special privileges as an inmate.

A man has denied threatening Wigan prison officers and menacing someone in order to get special privileges as an inmate.

Sean Jones, 24, of no fixed address, further pleaded not guilty to illegally possessing a mobile phone while an inmate in Hindley Jail.

A Bolton judge heard that, on February 14, last year Jones allegedly threatened that property belonging to Danielle Charnley would be damaged.

It is also alleged that “with a view to gain for himself or another, with intent to cause loss to another, he made an unwarranted demand of special treatment as a prisoner” from Gary Hyslop with menaces on November 11 2019.

Denying all charges, Jones was remanded in custody until his July 12 trial.
