REWIND: memories of Wigan summers (mainly) in the 1970s

As Wigan continues to bake in the hot sun, we thought we’d take you back to some summers in the 1970s to compare notes.

But not the famously hot one of 1976 nor even the summer after which was another scorcher.

Here we have pictures from Wigan events taken from other years during that decade – and a couple more from earlier and later times.
